Giveaway!

I returned from Salt Lake yesterday after a whirlwind weekend. Liz has basically no furniture for her new, amazing cond - so we were on a mission to hunt through each and every home store you can think of to fill the place. From beds to console tables, to dressers and rugs - our list was extensive! Before we had left for the weekend, I checked out CSNStores.com because they have such a variety of products in all price ranges. Although we made no purchases through the weekend, we did make a lot of progress getting decisions made and unpacking lots of boxes!

Now, for the good news - CSNStores.com is offering one lucky reader a $40.00 one time use gift code for anything on any of their 200+ sites. Yahoo!

Leave your name (and some way for me to contact you if you are to be a winner), and make sure you are a "friend" of my site - good luck - entries will be accepted through Sunday and I will announce the winner next monday!

Here are some things that we could not find this weekend that would go great on Liz's huge patio (each piece is under $200!)...
Chaise Lounges
table top heater
Outdoor dining set

I couldn't help it, these just put a smile on my face. I hope it does the same for you. I am headed out of town this evening for a long weekend. We have lots going on, so we will be busy! My cousin Virginia's Bridal Shower which we have been working diligently on, moving my sister Liz out of her old apartment & into the new condo(!), and doing some serious shopping to fill this fabulous place, yay!

I also have been updating my Etsy store with new goodies, so head on over and check it out! Until next Tuesday, cheers!

Pie + weekend recap

So, the pie crust and I, once again had a total disagreement. words were spoken that I most certainly wouldn't have wanted my grandmother to hear... why can just three ingredients prove so challenging? first it wouldn't roll out, then it turned to sticky, then it stuck to the board... Anyway, I salvaged it, barely, and ended up not covering the nectarines and blueberries totally, but sprinkling stars all over. thank goodness it tasted delicious, but I will absolutely need an official lesson in pie crust-ology before I ever try pie crust again.

Had a really busy & fun weekend filled with hiking, camping, fishing, road biking, mountain biking, and of course - eatting yummy food! Here are a couple photos of my hike up Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (which I had never done before, shame on me, and completed it in under 2 hours) - it is about 4100 feet in elevation gain, ending at about 10,450 feet above sea level. The greatest thing about the hike though is the free ride down the tram... oh it makes me very happy!

Enjoy your Monday!

I love a great black and white photo - so elegantly classic. For a while I would only take photos in black & white, it just seemed to make everything look better... I am about to make a nectarine (from all the centerpiece leftovers) & blueberry pie - I will take some photos ...pie crust and I have had issues in the past, but I am willing to try it again! How can something with so few ingredients pose so much problems?

Oh! I finally hit 100 followers, yay! A special hello to 'the paris apartment' for being lucky 100, here is to 100 more!

Easy DIY Centerpieces

These centerpieces are a cinch. My parents hosted a party for the National Trust for Historic Preservation and centerpieces were needed for the event. I volunteered to pull something together, and with little more than $20.00 this is what I came up with.

All you need is the least expensive fruit at the store (nectarines happened to be the special) some vases that were around the house and branches I collected from outside. Their were leaves still on the branches so I pulled them off mainly because by the time the party happens the leaves would have wilted and looked not so good. Easy fruit centerpieces are such a fun thing that can be tailored to any season - spring/summer: limes & lemons, fall/winter: apples, pumpkins, cranberries...

Enjoy your weekend - it is so gorgeous here in Jackson, and with lots of family around I couldn't be happier!

Next, lets focus on my bedroom, er, the guest bedroom in Liz's new place... these photos provide lots of good ideas! Have a wonderful Labor day weekend!
